So much has been going on here it seems as though there isn’t much time to keep you all updated. We have all been here in Jeffreys Bay for 3 weeks. We have settled in quite well here and it has become home to us. I moved down here to the UCSA base along with three others to live closer to the students. Last week the schools were closed for holiday so our students were busy with holiday programs, a September leadership camp at UCSA and some continued with their normal ministries.

This week was the first full week of ministry for many, mine included. The students are becoming more comfortable in their ministries and are beginning to step out into their callings. It’s been exciting watching them learn more about community living (41 students is a lot!) and seeking after the Lord’s heart in ministry. Sickness has been going around our camp as some have  been getting bacteria infections in their eyes, some have had the flu and others have had a bad stomach bug. We are fighting against it but could use your prayers as we are getting ready to minister in Somerset East, a town 3 hours away. The ministry we are doing is called Beat the Drum. We are leaving in 3 waves in the morning from 5 am to 8 am. All week we will be there ministering in the schools, prisons, hospitals and the community with curriculum about HIV/AIDS awareness. I am excited about this opportunity but know that it iw going to take a lot our of me. The community is a small one and we will stick out! I appreciate all of your prayers and support over the past few months.

Prayer requests:
  • Health (with community comes everyones germs)
  • Energy to sustain the team and leaders
  • Our outreach to Somerset East-Beat the Drum
  • Our ministry partners
  • My support-I still need $600 to cover the cost of my plane ticket.

I love the ocean!
